ROBERT W. McCarthy, 76

HARWICH – Robert W. McCarthy, 76, of Harwich, MA died Sat. June 19. He was born in Springfield, MA. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Florence (Gour) McCarthy, and five children: Mary, Cara, Andrea, Matt, and Kate, and twelve grandchildren.

While living in Monson for over 20 years he worked as an attorney for the Veterans Administration. Upon retiring to Cape Cod, he volunteered his time to the Council on Aging and We Can. He was also an active member of the Democratic Town Committee.

Visiting hours will be Wednesday, June 23 from 2p-4p and 6p-9p at Doane Beal and Ames funeral home, 260 Main St., W. Harwich, MA. A Funeral Mass will be at 11am, Thursday June 24 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in W. Harwich. Burial will be private at a later date.
