

Singer, Lover of practical jokes, and game player
Toni Jean Raneo 60, of Harwich, died peacefully, after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 14, 2011.
She was a compassionate, giving person who was quick to help someone in need, and who loved her family and friends.
Toni graduated from Harwich High School. She then went to work for the New England Telephone for 27 years, before retiring in 1997 as the first female Hyannis Screener/Distributor Maintenance Tester in Massachusetts. She was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electric Workers Union Local 2327.
She was second runner-up in the Miss Cape Verdean Pageant in 1970 and was a member of the Harwich Cranberry Festival for many years. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, Aux #8074. She loved traveling all over Europe and the Caribbean. She was also a Big Brother & Big Sister.
She leaves her father Wallace M. Raneo Sr., Step-mother Faustina Raneo, sisters Margo Bellamy and husband Willie Bellamy and Wendy Espanet, brother Wallace (Skip) M. Raneo Jr. and wife Elsie Raneo, and her beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, aunts and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother Eugenia (Andrade) Raneo.
She will be missed but will always be in our hearts.
Her visitation will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2011 from 2-5 p.m. in the Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 260 Route 28, West Harwich, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will held on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church, 246 Route 28, West Harwich, MA, followed by her burial in Island Pond Cemetery, Harwich, MA.
