

Born on January 31, 1928, in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Walter P. and Mary E. (Rossiter) Connolly.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a dedicated MDC Police Officer in South Boston.
William enjoyed golfing as well as playing cards with family and friends. For many years he was on a Candle Pin Bowling Team. He was a diehard fan of the local professional sports teams and was a season ticket holder to the Boston College football games. William devoted his life to his grandchildren and more than anything, he cherished the time that he shared with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Frank Connolly and sister, Jane Horan.
William will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Linda Connolly of South Dennis; his son, William F. Connolly and his wife, Kerri of Weymouth; his grandchildren, Trevor and Shane Connolly; his sisters, Dorothy McGlauflin of West Roxbury, Elaine McCarthy and her husband, Larry of Dennis, Marie Shea of Quincy, Bunny Follen and her husband, Don of South Dennis; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 4 – 8 pm on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 260 Main Street in West Harwich.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Holy Trinity Church, 246 Main Street in West Harwich. Burial will follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in William’s memory may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association of Cape Cod, 434 Route 134, South Dennis, MA 02660.
