William Christopher Teed

Born in Quincy, Massachusetts, Billy moved to Cape Cod as a child, where he would go on to build a life filled with family, friendship, music, history, travel, and countless memories.

Billy discovered his love of radio while in high school, beginning a career as a radio DJ that would span more than 25 years. Radio was more than a profession to Billy—it was something he genuinely loved, and his passion for it became an important part of who he was.

Billy also had a deep love of American history, a passion he inherited from his grandfather. He earned a master’s degree in U.S. History, reflecting not only his academic dedication but also his lifelong curiosity and appreciation for the stories that shaped our country.

Above all, Billy treasured the people in his life. He was a devoted and incredibly proud father to his daughter, Mackenzie, who was one of the greatest joys of his life. He met his wife, Meghan, while playing in a local adult kickball league, beginning a relationship that became an important part of his life.

Billy was also a devoted animal lover. His two cats, Chewbacca and Solo, and his dog, Lady, were cherished members of his family and brought him tremendous companionship and joy.

To know Billy was to know an amazing friend. He had a way of making people feel welcome and creating memories that would last long after the moment had passed. He loved road trips and traveling, discovering new places, and spending time on his friends’ boats. Whether behind a microphone, sharing a laugh with friends, talking about history, or simply enjoying time with the people he loved, Billy brought enthusiasm and warmth to the lives around him.

Billy will be deeply missed by his daughter, Mackenzie; his wife, Meghan; his mother, Susan; his father, William; his stepmother, Ginny; his extended family; and the many friends whose lives he touched.

His voice may no longer be heard over the radio, but the memories, laughter, friendship, and love he gave to so many will continue to live on.
