Catherine P. Buchalski

February 26, 1941April 11, 2019

Catherine P. Buchalski (nee Elker), 78, became an angel while surrounded by her family on April 11, 2019. "Kitty", as her family knew her, was born and raised in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, New York. She was one of eleven children and now leaves her sister, Marion (Henry), to carry on the Elker name. In Greenpoint, she met the love of her life of fifty-five years, Sal ("Butch"). Once she gave birth to Mark and Debbie (Ed), she became a stay-at-home mom. Kitty left her high-powered job at the Department of Agriculture for her family. Butch and Kitty raised their family in West Islip, Long Island, New York. Her family was her life. She cared for her mother, children, and her grandchildren, Lauren and Andrew. She helped everyone with anything and everything. Kitty was everyone's biggest cheer leader. She was an amazing cook with tons of family and Polish recipes.

Family and friends may visit at the Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Homes, 255 Higbie Lane, West Islip, New York 11795, 2-4:30 and 7-9:30pm, on Sunday, April 14, 2019.
