It is with tremendous sadness that we have to say goodbye to Michael Joseph Lemay who tragically passed due to complications caused by the Coronavirus. He left us on April 1, 2020 in the comfort of his home with his beloved wife Karen and his youngest son Shane. Anyone that knew him, knew this was exactly where he needed to be for peace. To encapsulate his life and put it into a few words is an impossible task. He was so much to so many people, but two things that mattered most to Michael were family and friends. Mike was an incredible friend to so many. He was that friend you could call on for help or simply to laugh and have a great time with. He was quick to smile and entertained us all with his karaoke. A party was not a party unless he got on the mic. Although his friends provided him incredible joy, his family meant the world to him. His life revolved around his family and he was committed to doing everything he could to help them. Pride, love, and admiration are all words that he used for his family. As a son, he was the oldest child who had to shoulder quite a bit of responsibility. He did this with love, strength, and a persistence to live up to the moniker associated with the eldest child. His parents were incredibly proud of the man he was. As a brother, you could not ask for any better. He would drop everything for any of his brothers and he would sacrifice everything to ensure the safety and well-being of them all. His love transcended that of typical brotherly love and allowed such strong bonds that many can only dream about. As a father, sacrifice, pride, and love, again, are the common characteristics he possessed for his children. In his eyes, they were perfect. The love he had for each of them can be characterized simply by saying he needed them in order to live. If you take away someone’s air, they will perish, this was the same about his children. He needed them for his survival and cherished his time with each of them. Michael’s entire demeanor changed when he talked about how proud he was of each of them. This brings us to the most important person in his life, his best friend and his only love, his wife Karen. Their love was pure and unmatched. He often said that Karen gave him life. These are not simply words or a cliché - they were his reality. He needed her strength and love to endure the many hardships and tribulations he faced throughout his life. She often hid behind him not knowing that it was, in fact, her strength that allowed Michael the freedom to fully grow and become the person we all loved. There is not enough time nor space to properly pay tribute to this amazing man; there are so many more aspects to his life, so many more stories, so many more lives he has touched. We all have moments that make us smile when we think of him. Pause from reading this and smile a bit thinking of him and paying him homage. We must say goodbye for now, but he will forever be a major part of our lives. He will forever live with each of us and will forever protect us. Draw upon his strength now to help guide us through this incredible sad time.

Michael is survived by his family and friends who will forever miss him. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Karen Elizabeth Lemay. Loving father and mentor to Corey and fiancée Danielle, Travis and wife Gabriella, and Shane Lemay. Incredibly proud and caring grandfather to Chase, Cole, and Oliver Lemay. Dear son of Cynthia Werner. Adored brother of Brian and wife Donna, Gary and wife Yesenia, Mark and partner Ricardo, and John Lemay. Cherished brother-in-law to David Rockwell and wife Helen, Robert Rockwell and wife Marge, and Jody Vega and husband Luis. Respected and loved uncle to Gabrielle, Brooke, Victoria, Joseph, Devlin, Miranda, Meghan, Kristofer, Andrew, and Elizabeth. He will also be missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, countless friends and coworkers. He has joined our angels: his father Joseph Lemay, William Werner, Robert and Ruth Rockwell, Jack and Marjorie Pendleton, his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who greeted him and brought him through to heaven.

I worked closely with Mike Lemay at Allstate in Hauppague and it is such a loss for everyone who knew him. It came as such a surprise in times like these. Mike's legacy will live on as being a great guy who was always there from servicing our building to being a personal mentor. If there was any building call, Mike was always there with a warm smile and was there to get the job done correctly and professionally. Thank you for the memories, Mike. My thoughts go out to him and his family.

When I met Karen 6 years ago, I knew our friendship would be one that would last. After I met Michael, and Karen and I would swap stories, we soon realized that their love is one that myself and Alex would want to have. We cherish the moments shared with you. We will always remember and love you; keep singing Michael.
Love always, Maggie and Alex

I worked closely with Mike at Allstate and soon found his funny witty personality fit right in with mine. He always greeted the mailroom in the morning with a big happy Good morning and I would always be like who the heck can be this happy this early! But that’s the thing mike was always that happy and appreciative. He would always talk about how fortunate he was to have the family he has. He would come in & give the best advice ( I called him Mikey wisdoms). I learned a lot from Mike whether it was work related or life related. He made work such a fun, positive environment and I think anyone can agree. He loved his family beyond measures, you could just tell by the way he would speak of them. We always would talk about our meatloaf recipes and argue who’s was better. Every-time I make a meatloaf now I will honor it to mike. He will be tremendously missed and I don’t think my work days will ever be the same.

My heart goes out to his entire family & you Karen💜 Rest In Peace Mike. 🕊

My big brother, my mentor, my friend and the man I have always strived to be. There have been so many great memories we have shared from singing karaoke together, fishing out of pine neck, you letting me drive your grand Torino (well not you let me) however each day since I got the devastating news that the man I idolized was no longer with us on this earth, my world shattered. There were so many memories we did not get to make and that will forever sadden my heart. I love you so much brother and can’t express how much I miss you. Please let dad know I love him.

Mike truly an angel a man with a beautiful soul, heart, who is kind, gentle, and a wonderful person. I will forever treasure my memory of our heart to heart talk at the campfire and the smile you gave me being a Dj at my 30th. Thank you for being my friend. Rest in Peace forever your friend Debbie.
