

He was born in Port Mourant, Berbice, Guyana and worked hard his entire life to provide for his family, having two to three jobs at a time. In Guyana, he was a school teacher, a rice mill worker, and ventured on to own a Royal Cinema. When he moved to America in 1980, he was a security guard and went on to become a successful grocery store owner. In 1998, he moved to Florida and worked at Avis as well as with the Palm Beach County School Board, before finally retiring at the age of 79.
When not working, he loved to watch Bollywood movies, Hindu shows, and especially videos of his grandchildren.
He is survived by and was a beloved husband to Rajo and a wonderful father to Indi, Sabrina, Sally, Bhash and Kelly and kind father-in-law to Mukesh, Larry, Teddy, Naline, and Tony.
He was a loving grandfather to twelve grandchildren, Navin, Sunil, Laura, Sharda, Nadia, Matthew, Amanda, Sanjay, Angelli, Shiv, Ajay, and Vijay, and a caring great-grandfather to eight great-grandchildren, Kaylie, Jax, Samira, Chase, Shyah, Skyla, Jason, and Sylas.
He will be deeply missed by all. He is forever loved and lives on in each of his family member’s memories and hearts.
A visitation for Mr. Lalta will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Royal Palm Funeral Home, 5601 Greenwood Ave, West Palm Beach, FL 33407. A funeral service will occur Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Royal Palm Funeral Home.
