

Bangel, Arthur age , 99, of Boynton Beach died peacefully on March 10, 2013. Loving father of Elizabeth and Ken Kuresman , Louise Gomer-Bangel, and Jim Bangel; Cherished grandfather of Amanda, Andrew, Beth ,Carrie, and Elizabeth; Adored great grandfather of Tyler. Dear brother of Morris (Libby) Bangel.His wife, Millicent, predeceased him in 2007. He so much wanted to reach 100, but didn't quite make it. He was amazingly sharp and lively to the very end, as evidenced by his singing and translating 10 days before his death the French National Anthem, a song and language he learned in France during WW ll. After he was retired they spent many years traveling through Europe from their condominium in Southern Spain. He graduated from CCNY and NYU after serving in both WW ll and the Korean Wars. Arthur spent most of his professional career as a management analyst working for NYC Board of Education and the Department of Civil Defense. He retired to Florida 40 years ago, serving the community in many ways as a volunteer and active letter to the editor writer. He received volunteer awards for his service. He was a sculptor and was even shown in the Norton Museum of Palm Beach. Services 1 pm Tuesday at I J Morris Funeral Directors, 5411 Okeechobee Blvd., W. Palm Beach. Donations may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County or the charity of your choice. Family will be receiving friends immediately following the service at the Bangel residence 8730 Egret Isle Terrace, Lake Worth, FL (Lakes of Sherbrooke)
