Barbara Louise Nora, 94, peacefully passed away on January 14, 2025, following a courageous battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome and Multiple Myeloma, under the care of Hospice. Born in Florida, Barbara lived in various locations along the East Coast, from Florida to Maine, before settling in West Palm Beach in 1938. She was a proud graduate of Palm Beach High School, class of 1948.
Barbara had a fulfilling 10 year career with Merrill Lynch, which spanned through her first marriage to Richard W. A. Davis and ended with her marriage to John B. Nora, Jr. She was a dedicated and active member, as well as an officer, of the PEO Chapter J philanthropic organization for many decades.
In addition to her professional life, Barbara was known for her love of cooking, sewing, and helping others. She brought joy to those around her with her witty humor and warm personality. She is survived by her daughters, Melanie Davis and Nancy Nora Pollard, as well as her four grandchildren—TJ Ryan IV, Davis Ryan, Hadley Ryan, and Mary Pollard. Barbara’s love for her friends and neighbors was deeply felt, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In honor of Barbara's legacy, may we all strive to live each day with the same love and compassion she showed to everyone who crossed her path.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 6411 Parker Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida 33405.
