Bernice Olivia Mosley was born on June 24, 1944, in Walker Springs, Alabama to the late John Mosley and the late Mary Lee Jimerson- Perry. She would often tell people although she was raised in Riviera Beach, Florida, she took her first steps in Walker Springs, Alabama.
Bernice aka “Bea” as she was affectionately known by many was a well-rounded and loving woman. She had a contagious smile and laugh that would brighten up your day. Even though she was quite “petite” she was very feisty and had a lot of spunk. She was the epitome of joy, fun and life.
She enjoyed reading and was very particular about using correct grammar and spelling. She embraced her culture and heritage. She really enjoyed attending different cultural events and learning new things “except when it came to new technology”.
She loved to listen to music whether it was gospel or that old school R&B and even some jazz. She was also an avid lover of sweets. She loved ice cream, cookies, cupcakes, cakes, doughnuts you named it. If there was any type of gathering, going on you best believe she was going to make sure something sweet was going home with her. She was always giving good advice to people and praying for people. That is the type of person she was.
Bernice accepted Jesus Christ has her Savior at an early age and was baptized at an early age on January 1, 1956, by the late Rev. J.H. Dolphus at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. There she was very active as she was a member of the Finance Committee and in her early years the Sunday School Secretary. She also was a Teacher Assistant at the Mount Olive Day Care Center. She was a long-time member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church until she joined Orthodox Primitive Baptist Church on August 5, 2012. She was an active member there until her illness which left her in a position to where she could not attend services regularly.
She completed her education in the Palm Beach County School System. She graduated from Lincoln High School, Class of 1962. She also attended Palm Beach Junior College and earned her Associates Degree. She then continued in the Palm Beach County School System and became a Paraprofessional at U.B. Kinsley/Palmview Elementary School of the Arts and at Northboro Elementary School. She enjoyed working with children and teaching handwriting with an emphasis on cursive writing.
On the early morning of Wednesday, February 5, 2025, the Lord softly whispered in her ear, “job well done my faithful servant Bernice and now it is time to take your rest”.
