Catherine Hays Macintyre

Catherine Hays Macintyre was born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1940, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and died August 27, 2026, in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was the daughter of Charles and Catherine Hays. Her Father was the long time Manager of the Greater West Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce which is now the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches. Cathy attended Palm Beach High School and Rosarian Academy in West Palm Beach, and was a graduate of Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. After college, Cathy was chosen by the Florida Development Commission to serve as one of six Sunshine State ambassadors to represent the state at the Florida Showcase in New York. Cathy was a member of the Junior League of the Palm Beaches, as well as the New York, Atlanta and Savannah Leagues. She was also a member of the Seminole Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, PEO Chapter AL, Executive Women’s Golf Association, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, and Allamanda Garden Club. She enjoyed living in Tallahassee, Atlanta, Rock Hill, South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia where she served as a docent at Telfair Museum. Cathy also loved working through the years at Illustrated Properties and Sotheby’s International Realty in Palm Beach, and had a special passion for entertaining, cooking, gardening and animals. She was very thankful for all God provided for her. Cathy was predeceased by her parents and brother, Charles Hays, Jr. She leaves behind her beloved daughter Sarah Catherine and Sarah’s husband, Ian Goldstein, who was like a son to her. She had many close friends who were affectionately known as the “Cozies.” A service will be held at a later date with interment in the columbarium at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in West Palm Beach, Florida.
