If you are thinking of throwing something out. Don’t. You might need it. Born in NYC after the Great Depression, Claudette had the wisdom of a sage when it came to saving. Her parents modeling frugality helped Claudette raise 3 children alone moving from Brooklyn to Florida. A strong, determined, woman, working in a bank, dental office, RCA, the Leukemia Foundation and even the Palm Beach Yacht Club created an eclectic circle of friends.
She loved everyone except Maitra Di’s who sat her under an air conditioning vent or close to a noisy table. She loved traveling to casinos and the local arcade to try her hand at blackjack, poker, or slots. With a sharp mind and memory, she loved card games, game shows (Jeopardy, being her favorite) and dabbling in the stock market. Her family was always in the spotlight of her affections from food to her infectious laugh.
You could find Claudette, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, sister, neighbors, and friends. A sign in her kitchen opined “Everyone Has a Right to Her Opinion.” Because she was smart, she was usually right. Claudette Post, 91, West Palm Beach went to be with angels and her Savior on February 17, 2023, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her daughter, Joneen Mackenzie, Colorado, son Russell Post, Palm Beach Gardens, Benita Sirgany, Ft. Lauderdale, 8 grandchildren and spouses, and 8 great grandchildren.
Claudette donated to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital and the Wounded Warriors Project. She would ask others be kind and help one another. Her children are planning a Life Celebration Service on Saturday March 18, 2023 at 10 am at St, Patrick’s Catholic Church 13591 Prosperity Farms Road, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410
