We were wrestling teammates & went our different ways after HS. Such a fun, talented and thoughtful guy. I'm so sorry for your family's loss. I only wish we'd stayed in touch. The days of our youth were wonderful at STA. Holding space in my heart for all of you & smiling about the memories we shared. 



Great guy laughed every time you were with him. Remember a great trip to the Keys with him and Steve D. I know my brother Jason loved him too. Rest in peace Dan.

LOL..that day you, Chip, Teddy, Joe D, me, and Chris Bray had dinner at my house with mom. Dan ripped the loudest burp after dinner. My mom slowly got up, grabbed the big fork from the meatballs/sausage plate, walked over to Dan and said"if you ever do that again, i will still this fork in your eye"! LOL. She sat down and Dan goes" it is considered a compliment in Europe", my mom busted out laughing. 2 friends my whole life that were able to get to my mom, Steve D. and Dan! I miss ya bro, way to soon my brotha!!!!! xoxxoxoxoxo

My condolences to the entire Swinarski family.
I was blessed to spend some time with Dan and others approximately 9 years ago on a trip to the Tampa St Pete area.  It was a 4th of July weekend. It had been 15 years since I had last seen Dan. We sang Buffett songs, and talked about the “Glory Days”. It was like it was only a couple weeks since we last spoke. The memories we shared from our high school and college days were, and still are, unforgettable. I was blessed  when you all welcomed me into your home and lives as a friend and teammate. At UCF we were roommates for a while. When he accidentally set fire to our apartment cooking Fries we “acquired” from McDonalds,  I could only laugh. Only Dan! In just a few years we had experienced so much. He taught me how to Scuba Dive while tipsy. He introduced me to Jimmy Buffett, and the Rocky Horror Picture show. From the time we graduated in 82’, my father always asked about Dan, and he always had a smile on his face when he said Dan’s name. No matter the circumstance, Dan knew how to make people laugh and smile . We were like brothers back in the day. We always remained friends. God bless you all. I’ll never forget you, and your kindness. Much love. 


I’m sorry to hear of Dan’s passing. It’s been many years, but I have many fond memories of Dan and his family. The parties at the house on Taft Street, midnight trips to the Keys, the massive bar he built in my first apartment, Gator Growl when Dan had to carry me into all the parties because Ted drove over my foot, but most importantly; Dan’s love and compassion for his friends and family.  
My thoughts and prayers for the family. Dan will be missed. Walk peacefully through Heaven Dan 💕

LOL..so freaking many, however since today is my mothers birthday i'll have the pleasure of sharing this story. My mom had made her home made Italian Gravy, chicken parm, salad, pasta, rolls, everything. It was Teddy, Dan, Chip, Joe & Steve Dombrowski . We chowed down and everyone one seriously stuffed, when all of a sudden Dan let out the biggest burp. We laughed and then my mom picked up her fork and said to him "you ever do that again, I will stab you in the eye with this fork" lol.. Dan goes, "but its a compliment in Europe"!!!! my parents loved him, gonna miss ya Spot xoxoxo.

Dan & I became friends our freshman year at Chaminade HS in 1978.  He was a football player & wrestler for 3 years at Chaminade.  After his/our Jr year, Dan & younger brother Chip, transfered to St Thomas, where Dan was a wrestling state runner-up, in 1982. 

Swin definitely had his own unique form of wrestling. Many of his famous "moves" are likely still not named & likely still giving coach Joe Bertolone heart palpitations. But he was always at practice, always worked hard, was incredibly tough, and was always fun to be around.
