Dennye J. Harper (nee Winn) went to rest in her Savior’s arms on December 25, 2011. Dennye was born in Goodsprings, Alabama on April 1, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Dennis and Gladys (nee Sapp) Winn. Dennye graduated from Alabama College (now University of Montevallo) in 1958. While raising her three daughters, she was a substitute teacher, teaching children in several Palm Beach County elementary schools. The position she embraced the most, however, was that of wife, mother, and grandmother. Her heart and home were always open to family and friends. A 47 year resident of West Palm Beach, Dennye was actively involved in a number of churches, including Victory Baptist Church, First Baptist of West Palm Beach, and most recently, Grace Fellowship Church. She took great comfort and joy in her church family, volunteering, singing hymns, participating in Bible studies, and enjoying the fellowship of her Sunday School group. Dennye leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Max C. Harper; her daughters, Denise Mack (Cliff), Robin Miller (Brian), and Karen Peters (Michael); her grandchildren, Ashley & Connor Mack, Jared, Krista & Brooke Jensen, and Emily Peters. She is also survived by her brother, Dennis Winn (Carla), and sister, Gayle Schwartz (the late Herbert), and several nieces and nephews. Her family would like to thank the many friends and neighbors who so generously helped during Dennye’s battle with cancer. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 28, from 3:30 to 4:30 pm at Grace Fellowship Church, 8350 Okeechobee Blvd., WPB, FL 33411, with a brief memorial service immediately following. Cremation/inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, Dennye requested that memorials be made to One Child (feeding ministry) c/o Grace Fellowship Church.
