

Dina D’Alauro, of Palm Beach Shores, passed away leaving a legacy of devotion to her family and community. Born Dina Beri on September 13, 1925, to Stephen and Rosa Beri, she was the last surviving sibling of brothers Angelo and Joseph and sister Agnes.
Raised near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dina contributed to the war effort during World War II as a welder, assembling landing craft. Following the war, she relocated to New York City, where she worked as a pattern and dressmaker and met her beloved husband of 66 years, Ferdinand (Ferdie) D’Alauro. They moved to Miami in 1971 before settling in Palm Beach Shores in 1975.
Dina found joy in ballroom dancing and traveling, and she was a dedicated volunteer at the Noreen McKeen Nursing Home as well as St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Riviera Beach. Known for her generous spirit, she was always available to help friends, neighbors, and family. She and Ferdie provided a model of enduring love and companionship to those around them throughout their long marriage since from their start, they were the love of each others’ lives.
She is survived by her children, Frederic D’Alauro, M.D. (Anne Shields) and Marlene Rizzolo, R.N.; her grandchildren, Alice Mahmot (Eric), Samuel D’Alauro, Blake Rizzolo (Marylynne Leblanc), and Hanna Rizzolo; her great-grandchildren, Emerson and Audrey Mahmot; and her devoted niece, Mary D’Alauro, along with numerous other nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to St. Francis of Assisi Church (100 W 21st Street, Riviera Beach, Fl 33404).
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for Dina on Wed., July 8 at 10:30 a.m., at St. Francis of Assisi Church, followed by a visitation, resheshments and entombment at Royal Palm Funeral Home (56-01 Greenwood Ave. West Palm Beach, Fla. 33407
