

Donna Jeanne (Swyers) Aliapoulios, was born in Murray Kentucky on June 5, 1934. She went peacefully home to be with Lord at her home in Lake Worth on December 29, 2023. She moved to West Palm Beach at the age of nine when her father, Howard Swyers became the Band Director at Palm Beach High School. Her mother, Virginia (Ginny) Swyers was a Sunday School teacher, piano teacher and also the daughter of a pastor and revivalist. Donna (AKA Mom, Grandma, YiaYia, Great Grandmother) began twirling at the age of three. She marched as a majorette in her father’s marching bands all the way through high school.
She attended Temple University as a dental hygiene student where she met the love of her life and soul mate, a handsome dental student named Theofelos Anastasios Aliapoulios. His nickname was “Steve”, and Steve and Donna were a team for 59 years at work in their dental practice, at church, at home and on stage. For almost thirty years she sang in the professional choir at the Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea. She was State President for the Florida Dental Hygiene Society and served in many places in the community.
Donna is survived by her two children and their spouses Mark and Kimberlee Aliapoulios and Cynthia and Tim Thompson. There are nine grandchildren and their spouses Clara Hodges (Curtiss), Colin Aliapoulios (Morgan), Clark Aliapoulios (Brooke), Hunter, Harrison and Howard Thompson, Samuel Beresford (Aimee), Rachel Ohler (Brian), Paul Beresford (Abby). There are five great grandchildren and one on the way. Xander Ohler, Adalaya and Rowen Beresford, Theo Mark Aliapoulios and Betty Rose Beresford.
