It has has been a year since our beloved Efrem P. Hinson transitioned into Heaven.  It has been a very tough year without Efrem.  We/I will continue to miss Efrem each and every day. Today February 19, 2024 is my 61st birthday.  Normally I would receive a call an early AM call from Cousin Efrem Hinson wishing  me a Happy Birthday.  Today I'm reaching out to Cousin Efrem to say Thank You for the many birthday greetings.  We all are still missing you and not a day goes by without thinking about you. Miss you cuz 😢

This has a very difficult process losing a first cousin who has always felt more like brother. My flight from PBI to BWI was almost a complete blurr back in September 17,2023. I have missed Cousin Efrem every day since September 3, 2023. I thought that with some time passing by that it would be a little easier. That has not been the case. It is the knowing that I will never see Efrem as I have often seen him in fun happy go lucky type surroundings.  Know that Efrem has been missed by so many people. My best friends Jonathan Thurston and Juan Flora often mention Efrem in all of our conversations.   I will always cherish the many great memories I have of Efrem. God continue to watch over Cousin Efrem  and keep your loving arms around him.

Thank you to everyone who has shared memories of my father, and shared experiences and feelings 
I can't help but think and feel sorry for everyone else everytime I think about my loss
You all had so many years with him, and although some of you may feel obligated, or guilted to keep up, know that we as his family, are not expecting or keeping track. As long as we (his children) are alive, his memory is! Sleep peacefully at night, live and remember without regrets, and know that everything was supposed to happen as it did. Be grateful we were chosen to be wake up. God is perfect, and doesn't make mistakes. At the root of my grief is gratitude. You all have touched our family just as you were recognized and also appreciated by my dad. Thank you for being apart of his life and mine!

A childhood friend of Efrem's Mrs. Katess Turner Hazleton from Bartow, Florida  sent me a marble plaque as a tribute to Mr. Efrem P. Hinson.  I was so moved by Katess tribute. We have known Mrs. Katess Hazelton and her family for more than 50 plus years.  Katess was a child prodigy very smart. Efrem and I were always amazed by Katess smartness. Katess was a neighbor to Mr. James Hinson (Efrem's paternal grandfather). Thank you  Katess for this wonderful expression of love. The Turner Family will always be apart of our family.
Katess has requested that we keep this as family heirloom.  So we will continue pass it down to Efrem's children.  Katess also sent a heart shape plaque to my Auntie Catherine Hinson.

This is still unbelievable that Efrem is gone. We just shared laughter at his godson wedding in the spring my son Carlos. We had a blast. We talked about Disney where his other godson works-Geramy. This is tough because we shared so much fun times growing up from younger years to college times. I was a Bethune Cookman Wildcat and his was Hampton I hung out with him and his college classmates as well as we hung at Cookman homecoming! I will missed him deeply and I give nothing but love to Goddy Cat and his children. God will help you heal.🙏🏾Deepest Sympathy

I have not been able to stop thinking about you and nor will I ever.  Just thinking about times in Belle Glade, hanging out with Paul, Ernest, and Jesse Wilcox,  Ann Coleman, Cynt and Claire we had so much fun in our tree house in the big tree across the street.  Summer time half of my time was spent in Boynton the other half in Riviera Beach.  Do you remember the time I jumped off my favorite high diving board in the Boynton pool and lost my swimming trunks and I had go deep in 13 feet to snatch them up before they hit bottom.  A piece of cake. How do we manage without your larger than life personality in our presence , that will be very difficult.  I/we will truly miss you.  Thank you thank you for everything.  What great times we had  at Tate pool   Delray pool,Boynton pool, The Firehouse Singer Island, Pier in Boynton  and the list goes on. It would be nice to go back to some of those days.  I hope you are where you can see all this love that we're sending your way.

My sincere and deepest Condolences on the passing of Efrem Hinson.  We had so many great times at Verizon Yellow Pages going to Chamber Events and Company Events.  Efrem, was such a kind, wonderful, true gentleman and family man!  His smile would light up a room.  So saddened he was taken by our dear Lord too soon.  I am sure he has the Biggest Angel wings in heaven!  Many prayers for Peace and Strength for the family.  Till we meet again ole Buddy!😀❤️

I met Efrem my first day at Hampton University. He was the best friend of my older brother J.R. Fenwick. Efrem adopted me as a little brother and would check up on me all the time. Making sure I was invited to all the cool upper-class parties. Taking me to get something to eat off-campus at night. If you went to Hampton then, you remember how hungry we were after the cafe and CC store closed. He took me on my first Spring Break to Florida. Later we were roommates in Charlotte, NC after graduation. We were at each others weddings. Our kids are the same age and we would celebrate some of their birthdays together. I could go on and on with story after story. 

Efrem was a SOLID DUDE.  You never knew what adventure you were in for with him. If he was on your side, he was there forever. This is the last picture that I have of him earlier this year. JR and him were visiting me in Miami Beach and we took this right after we went boating. 

I spoke to him the day before he passed. He asked if I was in Miami that day, because he was coming down to visit another Hamptonian friend Otis and wanted to hang. I told him I was Atlanta for the weekend. And he said “We’ll catch up next time.” Until next time, my friend, know that you are missed. JDub

My sincere condolences to the Henson Family.  Efrem was a very joyful young man.  It's so strange that two weeks ago some members of the Class of 83, Lake Worth High Speech Club,  shared memories of the happy and fun times we had in class. He was full of jokes and laughter.  RIP Efrem

Just a note to let you know that you meant the world to me .  We have known each other for almost 60 years.  We have spent many great moments together many cookouts, trips to Bartow, hanging out with Mike and Bo in Delray.  Our time in Hampton, VA was priceless many concerts, family reunions with Flora Family, and Hampton University events too many to recall. Just think of all the great people we met at Hampton.  That time in Hampton gave us a chance to go to Chicago with Stafford often.  You got a chance to go Toledo Ohio and Detroit with your brother's JR and JW. You were a great traveling partner always allowing me to have the window seat.  I am going to miss you so much, it has been a great shock for me , just talking to you with a group of Bartow people in my presence.  Thank you for showing so much love and concern when I had a major Pulmonary Embolism scare. You reached out to several people on my behalf. When I spoke with you on Saturday night. I had no idea that that would be last conversation. I cannot express the void that I am feeling right now. Our God will guide you through this transition.  My prayer is that Rest in Heavenly peace.

I had the extreme pleasure of Working with Efrem in the Palm Beach Lakes Blvd office of Verizon/Idearc and Supermedia.  The room was never the same until our Booming Voice Efrem showed up.  He always had a smile, always would support everybody with whatever they were doing.  Efrem was the perfect example of a true gentleman.  I looked at Efrem as a "Gentle Giant" with the smoothest radio voice you can ever imagine.  As far as family, Efrem was proud to display all of the family photos on his desk. He was a true family man and totally loved his children.  Efrem was a hard worker and very dedicated to his profession.  But with all that, his children always came first.   When it came to being around friends and feeling safe, Efrem was our "go to"                        Everybody loved Efrem and loved the funny stories he told.  Bottom line is Efrem was always a respectful and true gentleman.  His laugh will always be embedded in my mind.  Efrem will be missed.  So when you look up to the heavens and you see a big beautiful cloud, listen intently and the winds will bring forth Efrem's laugh which will calm your nerves and bring a smile to your being.  God bless you Efrem.  When it's our time to join the heavens, we all know you will be greeting us and escorting us through the gates and into the peaceful meadows.

Our condolences to your family. I used to work with Efrem many years ago and he was always nice and kind. When my son was in PICU without even asking he came to visit. I will always remember Efrem.
