EMIS TSAMOURTZIS BEROS Passed away gently and quietly in her sleep on Monday, June 1, 2011 after bravely fighting the challenges of metastatic cancer. She was predeceased by her husband, Evangelos "Andy" and her son, Gregory. Emis is survived by her daughter-in-law, Karen Beros and her grandson, Jason. Mrs. Beros was an internationally known, award-winning jewelry designer and manufacturer. She began her career in New York by convincing Mr. Harry Winston, the diamond merchant, to give her a chance. Admiring her confidence and eagerness to succeed, Mr. Winston gave her the opportunity to realize her dream. Within a few years, Emis refined her craft and moved to Palm Beach in 1971 where she enjoyed tremendous artistic and business success. Mrs. Beros strongly advocated a woman's role in the workplace as well as the balance necessary to be successful as a wife and mother, perhaps her favorite roles. A dear friend to many and a woman of strong traditional values, she was deeply committed to her husband, Andy and her son, Gregory. Her friends internationally, nationally and locally in Palm Beach, where she was a member of the Club Collette, the Beach Club and the Maralago Club will always remember the special grace and elegance that she added to every occasion. In recognition of the sensitive and dignified care provided by charitable contributions in memory of Emis Beros be directed to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407
