Eric Downes, born October 24, 1980, passed on February 7, from his fight with Metastatic Melanoma. Eric was born in West Palm Beach and is survived by his Mom & Dad, Virginia & Earl, and his brother Kevin. Eric had Albinism but never let his vision hold him back. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout for creating a Braille Interpretative trail at Okeeheelee Nature Center Park. He graduated with honors from Suncoast High School in Math, Science & Engineering and the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. He graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a BS degree in Physics and then earning a Masters Degree in Bio-Physics from the University of Wisconsin .
Eric has lived on both coasts ,in Massachusetts and Washington State, before settling in Austin, TX. Eric specialized in blockchain design and analytics, consulting for multiple companies through his business Triskew Consulting. This past year he decided to travel throughout Europe and Asia meeting new people and immersing in their cultures.
Eric will always be remembered by his family and friends for his love of the outdoors, animal tracking, swimming, and most importantly his ability to care, engage and listen to others without judgement.
