Where etiquette was defined by Emily Post, a stickler for grammar and doing things the right way. If you don't know the meaning of a word she would tell you to look it up, know the difference between lay and lie, bring and take. … Grammar people, the whole meaning depends on where you put the comma. If you're going to do it, do it right. So what?? So let's dance!
She would say often “I’ve loved Buddy(Dad) since I've been 12”. When you're with them you would step into the Evy and Bud Bubble; a place where they rule. Might be different than what you thought to do … but buckle up because it's going to be one hell of a ride filled with laughter, fun, adventure and doing it their way. She was often heard calling out to Dad “Oh Buddy .... “ followed by some lovely thing that happened that she just had to share.
Wherever she arrived, you knew the ‘Mayor’ was in the house~ telling all those present the mission she was on and how she found just what she had needed or how she had enjoyed the service in this great store, restaurant, hotel or golf course, etc.
She would endearingly introduce her children as daughter #1, 2 3, 4 or ‘my son my son’.
Knitting was her passion and she never left a mistake in anything she made. Besides all the sweaters, hats, scarves, vests and baby blankets for each new arrival in the family, she knitted hats for preemies in the hospital, blankets for HIV patients and "knitted knockers" for mastectomy patients, she could make a difference, so she did.
She loved her 5 children unconditionally, gave them the knowledge that were strong and capable of doing anything they set their minds to.
This has been passed onto to their view of each other, their spouses, children and grandchildren. She saw her 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren as she saw her children; no lines defining the unconditional love, all are supremely the best.
Evelyn left this world the way she lived it, with Buddy by her side, surrounded by her children laughing, loving, telling good stories, naughty jokes and the grandchildren texting their fun memories of grandma times.
Evelyn did it her way. God bless Evy💖💖
