Born in Chicago, IL on December 14, 1923, He passed away, on January 14, 2016, at the age of 92. Floyd Blank came to Palm Beach Florida after the conclusion of WWII where he served in the European Theatre with the U.S. Army Airforce and was a recipient of the French Legionnaires Medal of Honor. Always a man who helped others, he was known with great affection by many. He was the owner of Royal Contractors as well as the proprietor of the Blue Heron, Rosemary, Dunes, Alabam and Florida Bars and Package Stores, and Harvey’s Barbecue Restaurants. He was president and Life Director of the Palm Beach County Homebuilders Association and also Life Director of the Florida Homebuilders Association. He was a life long member of The Breakers Ocean Club.
Floyd is survived by his three daughters, Wendy Oates-Devore, Joyce Schorr and Bonny Holtzclaw and three grandchildren, Brittany Oates-Miller, Heath Holtzclaw and Samantha Holtzclaw.
A Memorial Service will held at 11am on Monday, January 25, 2016 at QUATTLEBAUM FUNERAL, CREMATION & EVENT CENTER at HILLCREST, 6411 Parker Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33405, with Rabbi Howard Shapiro of Temple Israel, officiating. Internment with Military Honors will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
