

Gafton Lloyd Gordon, a man of tireless pursuit for excellence, boundless compassion, and unwavering devotion to family and community, passed away at his home in Delray Beach, FL on November 28, 2024, at 9:58 p.m., surrounded by his wife and loving family. He was 79 years old.
Born on March 28, 1945, in the vibrant parish of Saint Mary, Jamaica, to Alexander Gordon and Felicita Gordon, Lloyd's life was a testament to hard work, brilliance, and love. He was not just a husband, father, grandfather, or friend—he was a bridge between cultures, a steadfast ambassador for family and friends from Jamaica, England, Canada and the U.S.
In 1970, Lloyd married his soulmate, Marie Gordon, in Birmingham, England, beginning a partnership that would flourish for over five decades. A graduate of Warley College of Technology, a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Lawrence Institute of Technology, and a Master's in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Lloyd’s career was a masterclass in dedication and innovation. From his beginnings as a Project Engineer with Alumina Partners of Jamaica, to leadership roles at Davon Corporation and Jamaica Development Bank, and later his transformative work for 25 years with General Motors, Lloyd left a lasting legacy in every organization he touched.
His professional success was only outshone by his love for his family and his deep sense of community. Lloyd was a man who extended his heart and home to all, offering wisdom, humor, and an enduring sense of connection. He was a devoted father to his sons, Gavin (married to Marcia) and Michael (married to Sherry), and a doting grandfather to his beloved grandchildren: Shae'lyn, Tosh, Jeremy, Caleb, Caden, Camren, (Gavin's Children), Paige, Nathan Julian, Zavier, (Michael’s Children) Great Grandchildren: Zamiah, Callie, Gianni, Mia, Layla, and Kiyomi. He also leaves behind siblings Wesley(wife Ann), Vera(husband Barrington), Winston(wife Vera), Norma(husband John), Lorna, Raymond, Sandra, Caron(husband Patrick).
Lloyd believed in uplifting others, often reminding everyone he encountered of their inherent worth and potential. He carried the pride of Jamaica and England with him wherever he went, sharing stories, traditions, and values that inspired generations. His life was a living tribute to the idea that true success lies in lifting others as you climb.
A visitation will be held on December 14, 2024 from 9-9:45am at Grace Fellowship West Palm Beach, 8350 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33411; followed by a celebration of Lloyd’s life at Grace Fellowship West Palm Beach starting at 10am. A Graveside service will occur at Royal Palm Cemetery located at 5601 Greenwood Ave, West Palm Beach, FL 33407 following the service, with Pr. Frank Ingram officiating. A reception to be held at Royal Palm Funeral Home immediately following the graveside service. The service will be live-streamed through the below links:

While Lloyd’s physical presence will be missed, his spirit will remain alive in the lives of all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Grace Fellowship West Palm Beach, a reflection of Lloyd’s passion for helping others.
