George was raised in West Palm Beach. He graduated from Palm Beach High School, Palm Beach Junior College, and the University of Florida in 1959 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
George was employed for three years at Hercules Powder Company and then for over 30 years at Pratt & Whitney in West Palm Beach. He retired in 1993 and enjoyed the years after that RV traveling to many locations in the United States and Canada.
George was a lifelong Episcopalian, and attended Holy Trinity as a young boy. After he married and returned to West Palm in the early 1960’s we attended Holy Trinity. When St. Christopher’s was being established, we became an active part of that congregation and worshiped there for many years.
George was a driving force in the West Gun Club Road Property Owners Association since its formation in 1977 and worked diligently to preserve the rural character of that neighborhood. He also served several years on the Palm Beach County Planning Commission.
Services will be Thursday May 24 at Quattlebaum Funeral Center, 6411 Parker Ave, West Palm Beach. Visitation hours are 10 am - 12 pm, with a service in the chapel beginning at 12 pm. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Trustbridge Hospice Foundation of Palm Beach or to any organization promoting cancer research.
