Helen was a long-time resident of West Palm Beach. She was born and raised in the Northwood District where she lived with her parents, and brothers George and Sam. She continued to live in the Northwood District for decades before moving to her condo. She obtained her RN training at Saint Vincent’s hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, and worked for the Visiting Nurse Association for many years. She used her nursing knowledge to help others whenever possible. She enjoyed attending local events and parties, and even played the "Gut Bucket" in a band that also included a Washboard, and other down-home “instruments!” She was a devout Catholic who added names of friends and relatives with medical issues, or were going through a difficult time, to her prayer list. Her prayers helped many people. We always said that she was the best “pray-er” in the family.  Mom really enjoyed her almost daily visits, and twice a day phone calls. On Christmas day she would arrive wearing a Santa hat and carrying a box of gifts. She was very fond of all her nieces, nephews, and cousins. She always kept track of birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and holidays, and would send greeting cards early to ensure they would arrive on time. She will be greatly missed.
