Humberto Sergio Gonzalez, born May 21, 1935 in Jovellanos, Cuba, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2016. Humberto immigrated to the United States in 1966 with his young family. He was married to Paula Marta Gonzalez for 55 years and has two daughters, Lessa McKinnon (Scott) and Cindy Pazanski (Matt); and five grandchildren Andrew, Max, and Alexa (McKinnon) and, Matthew and Nicholas (Pazanski). He is also survived by many relatives in Miami, Canada, Germany and Cuba. Humberto, known as Papi to many of his family and friends, enjoyed life to the fullest. Humberto greatly enjoyed reading, always on the search for knowledge, and known to his friends as an 'encyclopedia'. He was fortunate to travel the world and experience firsthand all the many things he read. He enjoyed listening to classical music, the arts, astronomy, jigsaw puzzles and 'Dancing with the Stars'. One of the special traditions passed along was the annual Christmas Eve pig roast. Family and friends would gather at the Gonzalez house for fun, food, drink and fellowship. The result was the best Christmas Eve dinner in the world. Papi’s selfless attitude and generous spirit will be dearly missed. Visitation will begin 9am and Service 11am, April 9 at Hillcrest Memorial Park in West Palm Beach.
