Jahime Antwone Wright

Some lives are measured not by the number of years they live, but by the love they give, the lives they touch, and the memories they leave behind.Jahime Antwone Wright was one of those extraordinary individuals. Though his journey on earth lasted only 22 years, he lived with a spirit that was fearless, compassionate, and unforgettable. Jahime was born on December 23, 2003, in the parish of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, to his loving parents, Chivion Higgins-Wright and Jagrey Wright. He spent the first three years of his life in Jamaica, where he attended Lance Wood Basic School. On January 11, 2007, he immigrated to the United States with his father, grandparents, and several other family members. His mother later joined the family.

After arriving in the United States, Jahime attended the Head Start Program at Union Baptist Preschool before continuing his education at Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary School. He then attended Howell L. Watkins Middle School, where he consistently earned a place on the Principal's Honor Roll and received numerous academic recognitions. He later attended Palm Beach Gardens High School, where he continued to excel as an honor roll student. At the time of his passing, Jahime was in his final semester at Palm Beach State College, preparing to earn his Associate of Science degree in Business.

Jahime entered the world with a bright smile and a personality that naturally drew people to him. From an early age, he possessed an adventurous spirit and a deep passion for automobiles and motorcycles. Even as a toddler, his curiosity knew no bounds. At just three years old, a manual transmission car was parked in the yard, and somehow Jahime managed to start it. The car suddenly jolted backward before coming to a stop after striking a soursop tree. What was once a frightening moment eventually becoming a cherished family memory. Looking back, it perfectly reflected Jahime's fearless personality and offered an early glimpse of the lifelong passion for automobiles that would become such a defining part of his life.

While still in high school, Jahime purchased his first car—a wrecked black Infiniti G35. It was through that car that his remarkable talent for mechanical work and vehicle customization truly began to flourish as he rebuilt it himself. With determination, skill, and countless hours of hard work, he rebuilt and customized the vehicle, transforming it into something uniquely his own. He proudly loved showing off his work, often calling family outside to watch the flames shoot from the exhaust while excitedly saying, "Come outside, come see the flame!" What began as a hobby quickly became a craft, earning the admiration of family, friends, and fellow automotive enthusiasts.

Jahime became affectionately known as "Nappy" during high school because he preferred not to comb his hair. Instead, he would brush it in circles with his wave sponge, creating his signature look. The nickname stayed with him and eventually inspired the name NappyAutoWorkz—a brand that became a reflection of his creativity, craftsmanship, dedication, and exceptional talent in the automotive world.

As Jahime grew, so did his love for his family, friends, and the work he enjoyed. He was the kind of person who never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Respectful, humble, and encouraging, he inspired others to pursue their dreams while bringing laughter and joy wherever he went. Jahime's visits were often accompanied by his favorite meal and a gallon of Chick-fil-A Sweet Tea—a simple pleasure that those who knew him will always remember with a smile.

Jahime was also deeply committed to fitness. His dedication in the gym strengthened not only his body and, as he would often say, his "aesthetic," but also his confidence, discipline, and determination. His strong work ethic, generous heart, and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Tragically, on June 7, 2026—his mother's birthday—Jahime's life was cut short following a motorcycle accident. Though his passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who loved him, his legacy of kindness, ambition, determination, and unconditional love lives on through the countless lives he touched.

Jahime leaves behind a family who cherished him beyond words, devoted friends who became family, and a community forever changed by his presence. He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, two sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, niece, nephew, and a host of lifelong friends. Though his absence is deeply felt, each carries cherished memories of his smile and the unconditional love he shared so freely. Today, we gather not simply to mourn his passing but to celebrate a life that, though far too brief, was lived with purpose, passion, and authenticity. We honor a young man who dreamed boldly, loved wholeheartedly, worked tirelessly, and inspired others simply by being himself.

Although his absence breaks our hearts, we find comfort in God's promise that love is eternal, and we find peace in knowing that the love he gave will remain with us forever. Jahime's legacy lives in every story shared, every lesson remembered, every rev of an engine, every burnout, every flame, and every engine brought back to life, every dream pursued with determination, and every heart forever touched by his presence.
