

James Moody Hayes, age 84, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016. He was born July 3, 1932 in Ariton, Alabama, lived in Haines City, Florida and moved to West Palm Beach in 1963. He served as a Corporal in the US Army (January 1954-December 1955) during the Korean Conflict (Korea and Japan) and received an Honorable Discharge from the Florida National Guard in 195. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was a manager with Publix Super Market for 42 years. He is survived by his daughter, Denise K. (Hayes) Miller; her husband, Rusty Miller of Royal Palm Beach and their children, Heather Miller and Ryan Miller and his son, Barry Hayes; his husband, Mauricio Busa of West Palm Beach and siblings, Sybil (Hayes) Burch and Nell (Hayes) O'Neal. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Evelyn (O'Neal) Hayes and his parents, Colson A. Hayes and Essie Mae (Woodard) Hayes. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center, 6411 Parker Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida 33405 with Rev.
