Dear Family of Jim McCoy,
Please accept my thoughts and prayers at this most reflective of times.As a young assistant professional at Onondaga  throught te 1970's, I had the opportunity to meet,play with,and learn from Jim.He was patient with my lack of knowledge on so many fronts of the golf business and was a mentor and friend, a fact that I still fondly remember.
He was a legend here in Central New York,touched the lives of  many,and I was so fortunate to have spent quality time with Jim.
RIP,Jim,you will not be forgotten.

To the McCoy family, I was very saddened to hear of Jim's passing.  You have my deepest condolences for your loss.  Jim has been my friend for sixty years and my neighbor for thirty years.  Jim has been coming to my home for thirty years to watch Miami Dolphin football games.  Football season will not be the same without him.  I have been talking to him on the phone or in person at least four or five times a week for a long period of time.  I already miss him.  He was a good man.  I know that he is in a better place.

To the Mc Coy family I was very sadden to hear of Jim’s passing. You have my deepest condolences for your loss Jim and I go back to the early 70 s when Jim was the Head Pro of the Lakeshore Yatch & CC one of the finest private clubs in upstate New York He was looked up to by both his members and fellow Golf Professionals for the great job he did at the club and his outstanding ability as a competitor on the golf course. Was one of the best players in the CNY PGA Section for years . Jim and I used to have a home and home match at our clubs with each of us with a member from or clubs it was great competition for a dinner of choice at the winners choice we became good friend over the years. I will truly miss him

To Clint, Kevin and McCoy family my deepest condolences and prayers for your loss.  My three years as Jim's assistant was full of great times with your family and Mom Donna.  He helped me with my career and game.  Loved our night time playing a few holes after work and especially our occasional Dewar's on the Rocks with a Twist.
Sue and I missed our dinners together.  He was the best short iron player the CNYPGA section ever had and voted that way in the newspaper.
