

Dr. Jerome Joel Rubin passed away December 6, 2014. One of five siblings, born in Brooklyn, New York in 1922, he has been a resident of West Palm Beach, Florida for over 60 years. He served as a Captain in the United States Army, stationed in Munich, Germany from 1952-54. Dr. Rubin was a graduate of Brooklyn College and University of Pittsburgh Dental School where he received his degree in dental surgery. He practiced dentistry for over 40 years in the Palm Beaches and was an on call Emergency Room Dentist at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was also a founding Dentist for the Dental Hygiene program at Palm Beach State College, and a member of the teaching staff at Nova University Dental School. Over the years, Dr. Rubin volunteered his time and his dental staff in providing care to residents at Morse Life. He was an active member of Temple Israel, a very important part of his life for over 60 years, and a past member and president of the Optimist Club. Dr. Rubin is predeceased by his wife Jean, of 59 years and his sister Celia Rubin Braham. He is survived by his children Lisa Rubin Caplan, Donna Rubin Gaber (Don), Jeffrey Rubin (Amy), and his grandchildren Steven Gaber and Jake, Dana and Brad Rubin. He is also survived by siblings Sylvia Brodsky, Ethel Kovel, and Manny Rubin. A Funeral Service will be held December 9th at 10:00 a.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center at Hillcrest, 6411 Parker Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida with a Graveside Service to follow. In lieu of flowers contrubitions may be made in his memory to Temple Israel of West Palm Beach, Florida.
