

Johnnie Mae Coleman was born July 2, 1943 to her parents John and Mayetta Coleman. She was preceded in death by her brother Willie Lee Allen, Sister Queen Patricia Parks and Sister Evelyn Davis. She attended Middleton High School and graduated Class of ’61 in Tampa, Florida.
Johnnie passed peacefully from this life the morning of Resurrection Day, April 1, 2018 after a gradual decline in health. She was tenderly held in the arms of her oldest daughter Shawn during her transition. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and friends “The Stoneybrook Girls” during the last days of her life.
Johnnie was born and raised in Tampa, Florida then later moved to Miami where she raised two of her four children. In 1970, she moved to West Palm Beach where she gave birth to her last two children.
Johnnie worked as a nurse’s assistant as a young adult and later as a house manager for Dr. Orlano at Highridge Family Center in Riviera Beach until she retired in 2008. She filled her life with the hobbies of cooking, sewing, and singing.
Johnnie is survived by three children: Ly’Chann Correa (Shawn), Stephanie Keeling (Steph), and Jakara Simpkins (Kara); son-in-law Tyrone Keeling, eight grandchildren: Dennis, Daniel, De’Yana Correa, Dexter Finley, Briana Coleman, Hannah Howard, Kaylin and Kameron Keeling; four great-grandchildren: Kali Marie and Kannon Maveric Correa, Jaceon Coleman and Desiyra Finley; two nieces: Shirley Roberts and Jackie Tabor, two nephews: Joseph Davis and Clyde Walton. Johnnie also leaves a host of close, dear friends and godchildren.
A visitation for Johnnie will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Royal Palm Funeral Home, 5601 Greenwood Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida 33407. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 2:30 PM at New Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 748 West 9th. Street, Riviera Beach, Florida 33404. An Interment will follow at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens, 5601 Greenwood Ave, West Palm Beach, Florida 33407-2499. Services are entrusted to Royal Palm Funeral Home.
