

Jose M. Gomez, Jr age 74 of West Palm Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on May 21, 2012 and has now entered the "Heavenly Gates", where he was greeted by family and friends that have been waiting for him. Jose began his journey in Matanzas, Cuba on December 19, 1937 to the late Mr. Jose M. Gomez, Sr. and the late Mrs. Lucila (nee Guerra) Gomez. He came to the United States forty years ago to raise and care for his family. Jose was an Independent Contractor for many years working in the tile trade as a professional tile setter. He was a devout Catholic and attended St. Juliana Catholic Church in West Palm Beach to worship and praise his "Lord and Savior Jesus Christ". Jose also was an avid sports fan, he loved the Atlanta Braves Baseball Team and always cheered them on; he was an amazing cook creating special cullinary delights for his family and friends to enjoy; he loved playing Dominos and cards, especially Poker; and if the music was playing move out of the way, "Here comes Jose to dance the night away"; but most importantly of all Jose loved his family and friends, placing nothing above them except for the Lord. Jose never missed the opportunity to recieve a blessing at church, since in later years he had difficulty recieving the Holy Sacrament due to problems with his throat. He also was a former member and past President of the American-Cuban Club in West Palm Beach, FL. Jose will forever be remembered for that charming smile, those big bright eyes and his great sense of humor! Jose will be cherished forever by his loving & devoted wife of thirty years, Margarita C. (nee Cano) Gomez; his loved children, Eneida Barrios of Homestead, FL, Juan Carlos Gomez of Virginia, Mary Lou Gomez of West Palm Beach, FL, Margarita Hernandez of West Palm Beach and Lilian Hernandez Riveral of Boynton Beach, FL; his adored grandson, Carlos Manuele Rivera of Boynton Beach, FL and his admired sister, Miriam Quiros and her husband, Jose of Miami, FL.
