Larry Stanley Weaver, age 74, of Riviera Beach, Florida, departed this world peacefully on September 4, 2026 after a long courageous battle with various illnesses. He was born on July 10, 1952, to Charlie Weaver, Sr. and Ruby Burgess Weaver in Georgia. Ruby’s husband had left her with seven children. She was determined that education for her children would be the means of escape. She made them read books and made them study. Also, during that time after the chores were completed she would read books when she put her children to bed to further educate herself. Then she moved her family from Georgia to West Palm Beach, FL. At the time of that move Larry was 6 years old.
Larry worked eight hours a day during his school years. He cleaned the kitchen, and provided room service at the Ramada Inn. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1970. Larry was a brilliant student. (By his own account he humbly suggests that he was only a good test-taker.) Larry was a member of the National Honor Society. Larry took the National Merit Scholarship Test and his grades were so high he was recruited by a small elitist Jewish college in Boston, Brandeis University. And there he went, on a scholarship, this sharecropper’s son, encouraged by his mother to read books and study. He graduated from Brandeis in 1974, where he earned a Bachelor degree in Social Studies. He then immediately enrolled in the University of Florida Law School where he earned a Juris Doctor, Law. After graduation in 1976, he returned to West Palm Beach, FL.
He held a series of jobs in his life, some are as follows: Deputy Public Defender for the 15th Judicial Circuit of the State of Florida from January 1977 - September 1978, he practiced as an associate with T.J. Cunningham from October 1978 to May 1982. He was a partner in the firm of Brown and Weaver from January 1985 to October 2014. When Richard Wennett, Domestic Relations Commissioner was elevated to Circuit Judge, Larry applied for the position of Commissioner/General Master, and was selected by the Circuit Judges. The Honorable Larry Weaver was a retired judicial official who famously served as a General/Family Law Magistrate for the 15th Judicial Circuit of Florida in Palm Beach County for nearly three decades, handling domestic and civil court proceedings. Larry also presided over code enforcement or special master hearings for the City of Riviera Beach. Larry also served on the Lutheran Services Board.
He met his wife, Cecelia, when she was a secretary and he was a legal intern in the State Attorney’s office. They dated for five years before deciding to marry in 1983. Commissioner Weaver was a very sensitive listener and experienced a lot of frustration, because he was asked to solve problems that couldn’t be solved, mostly for lack of family money to divide among the family. Larry also coached a basketball team along with fellow Attorney Don Stephens. Larry enjoyed sci-fi, fishing, woodworking and had taken courses at South Tech to learn how to build furniture. Larry was a member of Christ Family Worship Assembly and was a faithful member until his health prevented him from being in physical attendance.
Preceding him in death are his parents Charlie Weaver, Sr. and Ruby Burgess Weaver, Brothers Humbert Weaver (Milly) and Donnie Weaver (Joyce).
Larry leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife of 43 years Cecelia Bell Weaver, son Thomas Eric Kittrell, daughter Kimberly Monique Kittrell and son Aaron Bradley Weaver. Brothers Harry Weaver (Minnie deceased), Charlie Weaver, Jr., (Janet deceased). Sisters Juanita Weaver (Carl), Katie Weaver. A host of nieces nephews, cousins, in-laws and church family. Endearing cousin Kirra Kelly. Special friends, David Gibson, Sr., Bryant Hill, Major Williams, Ralph Martin, Barbara Hudnell, Louis, Little Rufus “Agent” Burns, godchildren Rufus Burns, Jr., Ashley Burns Nelson and Rashad Burns. Extended family, Mora Garvin, Mary DeGraffenreidt and Shelia James.
