

Lee was born in Norwalk, Ohio to Margaret and Richard Elmer and graduated as valedictorian of Norwalk High School later earning a degree in Medical Technology from Ohio University. She married Kenneth Harmon on July 26, 1958 in Norwalk, Ohio. She worked as a chemist for Honeywell in Riviera Beach for several years before being a homemaker. She later earned a Master’s degree in Education from Florida Atlantic University and worked in the shipping department at Harold Grant clothing store from 1979 to 1996 before retiring. Lee enjoyed reading, music, theater, art and walking. For many years she split her time between residences in Florida and North Carolina volunteering as an usher at the Eissey Campus Theater in Palm Beach Gardens and volunteering as an art therapist at the Charles Cannon Memorial Hospital in Linville, North Carolina. While in Linville she was also a volunteer librarian and played dulcimer in a bluegrass band.
Lee was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Harmon, daughter, Barbara Gualtieri; brother, Richard Elmer (wife Irene); and sister, Ruth Mueller (husband Doc); and parents, Margaret and Richard Elmer. She is survived by her sons, Stephen Harmon and James Harmon (wife Gloria).
