Louise Kropp Moreno, affectionately known as “Snuffy,” passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025, at the age of 90. Louise lived a full and rich life, touching everyone she met with warmth, love, and a boundless spirit. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend whose heart was always open to those around her.
Born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, on November 6, 1934, to Josephine and Kazimierz Koszela, Louise grew up surrounded by the love of her siblings, and though she lost them too soon, she carried their memory throughout her life. Louise was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Stella Finney (Russell) and Jean Hackett (Duane), her brother Ray (Monica), and her sister-in-law Marlene Cavallaro (Joe). She was also predeceased by her husbands, Albert Kropp and William Moreno, as well as her son Brian Kropp and granddaughter Amanda Adams, all of whom she dearly loved.
Louise is survived by her sons Ronald, Kenneth, Jerald (Jennifer), and Robert (Holly) Kropp; stepdaughter Christine Walters (Rod); stepsons Don Moreno (Katey), Bill Moreno (Debbie), and Randy Moreno (Donna); and a large, loving extended family. She was the proud matriarch of the Kropp and Moreno families, blessed with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought joy to her heart.
A woman of many talents and passions, Louise’s greatest joy was being a homemaker—welcoming family, friends, and even strangers with open arms. Her home was always a place of comfort and love, filled with laughter and kindness. She and her husband Bill traveled the United States in their motorhome, creating memories and enjoying their retirement together. For 20 years, they embraced the joy of square dancing, an activity they both adored, and were active members of their church community.
Louise’s legacy is built on her love for others and her unwavering faith. She was the foundation of her family, always there with a listening ear and a heart full of support. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but the lessons she imparted—of love, strength, and kindness—will live on in each of us.
