Lucas Alexander Maltese was born in NY on June 20, 1997 and passed away in Boynton Beach, FL on October 9th, 2019. He was a professional HVAC technician and a Third Dan Black Belt Chief Instructor in the Ko Am Mu Do discipline of Taekwondo and instructed adults and children in the evening.

During his 22 years on this Earth, Lucas has touched countless numbers of people on a personal, almost visceral level. He had an ability to put them at ease, make them smile, and always send them on their way happy. In some sense, he was a modern-day shaman.

Lucas enjoyed nature and the outdoors, was compassionate to all living things, and spent much time at the beach or in the woods. Those were his sanctuary. He had a vast knowledge of Astronomy and the Cosmos and could talk for hours on the subject matter.

Lucas was a very spiritual person who lived a vegan lifestyle. He disliked anything artificial and respected the Earth and all its inhabitants.

His departure has left us empty and sad, but please try not to feel that way as he is amongst the Moon, stars, and solar systems. He’s in a better place, flying around with "that Lucas smile", spreading love, light and rainbows for all to see.

Goodbye for now, son.

Lucas is survived by his sister Daniela, mother Cecilia, and father Christopher.

Deeply saddened to hear of Lucas passing so early to the next life, he shared his spirit & arts with my Tai chi students on several occasions around his last grading. Fly high Lucas free at last of these mortal chains!

Lucas was a strong and kind presence at the Dojo. My son has learned so much from him in TaeKwonDo and he will be deeply missed by the children, who really looked up to him as their teacher, role model and friend. Love and peace to Lucas' family.

Lucas, you were the most positive, humble, caring, sweetest person I knew. We were so close for such a long time. You always had a way to make me smile. I went through such a rough patch in the beginning of high school and you talked me off a ledge and it breaks my heart I couldn't be there for you. Thank you for being a great person and a phenomenal friend. I will carry our memories and friendship forever. Love you, kid. Fly high

Lucas,

You were one of the original Nautica Sound boys. I remember your beautiful smile and your skate boarder hair (when you were nine). Rest In Peace Lucas!

Lucas was one of the sweetest souls to ever exist on this planet. We met in middle school, and we were very close until we parted ways in high school. We used to talk all night on webcam during the summers, and we’d sing along to Usher and other R&B. I had just seen him a few months ago, and I’m thankful for that chance to give him a hug and tell him I loved him one last time. The world was a much better place with him around, but at least we can all still carry him in our hearts, forever. He loved his family and all of his friends, dearly. Rest In Peace, Lucas. We love you so much.
