Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, of West Palm Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 17, 2018, at age 94. Born in Claxton, GA to late Edgar and Eunice (Marshburn) Lain, moved to West Palm Beach in 1938, and married James Canavan on April 28, 1946. Mrs. Canavan was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church for over 50 years, and secretary for Jack Vogel Construction for 12 years. Affectionately known as “Monk” by friends and “Ana” by family, she enjoyed cooking, traveling and spending time with loved ones. Her loving kindness, generosity and warmth will always be with us.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James (Popie) Canavan; sisters, Frances (Tom) Mulkey and Louise (Glenn) Bond; and granddaughter, Layne Canavan Blackley.
She is loved and will be greatly missed by her sons, John (Susan), Daniel (Collette) and Michael; granddaughters, Anastasia (Dominick) Avello, Lauren and Lissette; grandsons, Cavan (Allison), Joshua (Jennifer), Logan and Douglas; great-grandchildren, Brynn and Ronan; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Friends mat visit with the family from 3:00 to 6:00 PM on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at QUATTLEBAUM FUNERAL, CREMATION & EVENT CENTER at HILLCREST, with a Funeral Service to be held at 6:00 PM. Committal Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 20, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, West Palm Beach. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to TrustBridge Hospice, 5200 East Ave, West Palm Beach, FL 33407.
