

83, passed away on July 27, 2015 in West Palm Beach, Florida. The son of Marvin and Rose Mae Rickles, Joe was born June 27, 1932 in Fairfield, Alabama. After graduating from Fairfield High School, he served four years in the Naval Reserves. He retired in 1992 from the Palm Beach Post-Times after 38 years of employment as staff photographer, engraver, pressman and Superintendent of the Reel Room.
All who knew and loved Joe admired his dedication to his family, friends, community, church and all animals. Among many of his accomplishments, Joe was past-president of the Gem and Mineral Society of the Palm Beaches, Captain of Citizens on Patrol and Lay Leader of Grace Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, photography, music and being involved in church activities. His happiest moments were spending time at home with his family and pets.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Reba Carolyn; his daughter, Debbie and her husband, John Gandy, and her children, Brenda Girardi and Cynthia Haynes; his daughter, Sharon and her husband, Bill Johnson, and their children Kyle, Ryan, Bradley and Christian; his three great- grandchildren Naomi, Bryson and Colton; and his two nephews, Larry and Charles Burgess and cousin Ralph Parsons.
A Celebration of His Life will be held at 11:00 AM om Monday, August 3, 2015 at the United Methodist Church of the Palm Beaches, 900 Brandywine Road, West Palm Beach, FL, 33409.
