Mary Evelyn “O’Neal” Hayes joined her parents, Mr. Paul Odom O’Neal and Anna Mae (nee Waters) O’Neal and siblings, Walter “Billy” O’Neal and Edward “Buddy” O’Neal in Heaven on January 13, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. JAMES AND FAMILY,
"GOD GAVE US MEMORIES SO THAT WE MAY HAVE ROSES IN DECEMBER."
I KNOW WE ALL HAVE OUR SPECIAL MEMORIES OF EVELYN ,AND MINE ARE VERY DEAR.
I HAVE KNOWN JAMES AND EVELYN FOR MANY YEARS AND THEY ALWAYS BEEN VERY SPECIAL PEOPLE IN MY LIFE.
I FIRST MET EVELYN OF ALL PLACES, IN THE DELIVERY ROOM AT GOOD SAMARATIAN HOSPITAL WHERE WE BOTH DELIVERED OUR YOUNGEST SONS.
WE WOULD ALWAYS VISIT WHILE SHOPPING AT PUBLIX,AND SHARE OUR STORIES OF THE DAY WITH MUCH INTEREST AND LAUGHTER.
SHE ALWAYS HAD A VERY DRY SENSE OF HUMOR AND NEVER CEASED TO MAKE ME LAUGH.
SHE LEFT HER FOOTPRINTS UPON OUR HEARTS WITH HER HUMOR
AND HER KINDNESS.HOLD FAST TO YOUR MEMORIES FOR THEY ARE THE TREASURES HIDDEN WITHIN THAT STAY WITH US FOREVER,AND I AM SURE YOU HAVE MANY.
WITH MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY,
JIMMIE LOU SHOEMAKER

James, I will not be able to attend the service on Wednesday but will be thinking of you. I kept hoping that you and Evelyn would be able to attend the class reunions that have been held the past few years in Haines City. Orris Bullock, our class leader has been notified and all of Evelyn's classmates will be informed. My prayers to you and your family. Hazel Lovette Stackhouse
