Mercedes Carol Perez Maribona age 92 of West Palm Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on March 7, 2014 with her family by her bedside. Mercedes belovedly known as "Mercy" was born on March 12, 1921 in Cardenas, Cuba to her eagerly awaiting parents, the late Mr. Alberto J. Carol and the late Mrs. Maria G. (nee Smith) Carol. In the late 1960's Mercy moved from her hometown of Cardenas, Cuba to the United States of America to begin a new life on the path of becoming a Naturalized US Citizen. Mercedes spent much of her time devoted to the love of her life, Ramiro P. Maribona; keeping house, cooking, cleaning and looking after her husband. She was the true Matriarch of the family always attending to and looking after the family. Besides her love for her family; Mercy also loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and was a devout Catholic worshipping at St. Julian Catholic Church and participating in the Legion of Mary and various other church activities. She was a very giving and selfless person; forever thinking and doing for those less fortunate than herself. She lived up to Proverbs Verse 31:10-12; "A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life." Mercy has gone home to join her beloved husband, Ramiro; who has been waiting for her to join him in Heaven since April 7th of 2011. She leaves behind to forever cherish her memories two adored sisters, Guilly Carol Tarafa and Graciela Carol Diez Arguelles; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends also survive Mercy. "God had his plans, he called her name and released her from this Land and welcomed her into the Promised Land." Mercedes family will hold a Memorial Service in the near future to commemorate the life of their dearly departed loved one. She will be committed next to her husband in Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum, 6411 Parker Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida 33405, (561) 582-4131 at a future date.
