Nellie Loretta Tricoli

Nellie Loretta Tricoli, also affectionately known to many as Aunt Betty, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026, in Boynton Beach, Florida. She was a Florida native, born on June 16, 1934, in Lake Worth, to the late Robert W. Hansen, Sr. and Jessie A. Snyder Hansen.

Guided by faith, generosity, and an unwavering love for her family, Nellie was a constant source of support to those around her. She always placed the needs and happiness of her loved ones before her own, and her caring nature made her someone family and friends could depend on.

Nellie dedicated 26 years to Housing and Community Development for Palm Beach County, building a meaningful career in service to her community. After retiring, she enjoyed reflecting on her many blessings and sharing them with others from the porch of her home overlooking “her” lake.

Her deep faith was evident in the compassion, kindness, and generosity she showed throughout her life. Above all, Nellie was devoted to her family and treasured every moment she shared with them.

Nellie is survived by her beloved children: Teri L. Acquavita (Fred), Joseph L. Tricoli, Jr. (Peggy), Jamey L. Tricoli (Lisa), Johnny L. Tricoli, and Jeffrey L. Tricoli (Hilda); nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Teresa Hansen, as well as many extended family members and dear friends who will continue to cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert W. Hansen, Sr. and Jessie A. Snyder Hansen, and her siblings, Wanda E. Moore, Robert W. Hansen, Jr., and Theodore B. Hansen.

Nellie shared a special bond and love with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and animals, all of whom brought her great joy and companionship. She also enjoyed playing board games and was remarkably knowledgeable about them. Whenever teams were chosen, she was often the person everyone wanted on their side—a reflection of both her skill and the joy, confidence, and competitive spirit she brought to every game.

Those who knew Nellie will remember her for the countless ways she gave of herself as an intensely devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and woman of faith. Her greatest joy was seeing her loved ones happy, supported, and cared for.

Nellie’s cherished memory will live on in the hearts of all whose lives she touched. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave so freely will remain a lasting part of her family and continue through the generations.

May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and faith that guided her throughout her life.
