JONES, Jr., M.D., Oliver LeeOliver Lee Jones, Jr., M.D., age 82 of West Palm Beach, FL, passed away December 2, 2015. Born June 9, 1933 in Hopewell, VA, the second child of Dr. Oliver Lee Jones, Sr. and Anne Storey Jones, his family relocated to West Palm Beach in 1944 where Oliver Lee Jones, Sr., became the County Physician. Oliver followed his father into medicine attending Duke University, University of Miami Medical School, and a residency in orthopedic surgery at Vanderbilt University. He returned to West Palm Beach to begin his practice which was interrupted by the Vietnam War where he served as Chief of Orthopedics at Womack Army Medical Center, Ft. Bragg, NC. Upon returning to West Palm Beach, he continued his practice and was loved by his patients and staff. Oliver enjoyed fishing and cruising the islands on the "Vamoose". Later in life, he treasured spending time with family and friends at his second home, "Comeback Bay", on Sugarloaf Cay in the Bahamas. Oliver was always a true gentleman, treating everyone with kindness and respect. He was predeceased by his first wife, Nancy Paty Jones. He is survived by his second wife, Sally Hamner Massey, who lovingly cared for him until his passing; a brother, Tom Jones; sister, Patricia Phillips; five children, Louise Jones (Bill O'Connor), Nancy Hoskins (Jim), Patricia Jones, Oliver Jones, III, and Thom Jones (Kevin Garbarini); four grandchildren, JD and Beau Hoskins, Chloe Farmer, Oliver Jones, IV; and numerous nieces and nephews.There will be a brief service at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 6411 Parker Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33405 after which the family will receive friends.
