Oscar held many titles throughout his life, from Son to Captain but his favorite role was Husband, Father and Grandfather. He loved nothing more than spending time with his adult children, Vanessa, Melissa, Nicholas, Michael and Andrea. Payton and Jordan upgraded him to a Grandfather which allowed his history lessons of the Titanic and The Bermuda Triangle to resume session. As a husband he loved to admire with Maria the beautiful family that they blended in so well. They would often laugh as they looked back at all stages of their journey, sitting in awe that they did accomplish just what they set out to do when they first fell In love 27 years ago. He always knew that they gave their kids a solid foundation to return to. He had a long love affair with the Ocean that started in Cuba and it was almost his gift. He wanted everyone to feel that love for the Sea because he knew that it could heal the darkest day.
He never judged or forced his opinions on anyone but offered valuable and truthful advice. He was loyal, and he loved fiercely and unconditionally for the ones close to him. He always kept his sense of humor, and always looked out for the ones he loved. He had a servant’s heart and always put his family before himself.
When we love people, it’s so comforting to know that they will always be with us in our hearts. Oscar was no different. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered and celebrated. Oscar’s life was a blessing and his memory a treasure. He will be missed beyond anything imaginable and we are trying to hold on to the decades where he taught us how to navigate through a storm without a forecast.
You can remember him and only that he is gone or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.
OUR HEARTS ARE ACHING, BUT HEAVEN IS ONE STAR BRIGHTER
