Paidaie “Moon” Maharaj, age 85, passed away on September 27, 2018, at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, following a lengthy illness. She was born on October 29, 1932, in Arouca, Trinidad, West Indies to Ramjaria and Ragobir Bansee Maharaj. She was a homemaker who lived in Lake Park, Florida for 35 years. Moon was a dedicated mother of three sons, and grandmother to two grandsons. She was an amazing cook, and a charitable and loving woman known to all as Mom, Mummy, Ma, Tanty, Grandma, Gamma, or simply “Ms. Moon”.
Moon was preceded in death by her sister Doolin (Ramdeo) Maharaj, brother Sono Maharaj, grandson Christopher Jagdis Maharaj, and son Roosevelt D. Ramsubhag (Judy Lisenby). She is survived by sons Dindial “Cool” Maharaj, of Lake Park, Florida and Carlson Ramsubhag (Malcolm Jones) of Jacksonville, Florida, a grandson Stephen (Viktoriya) Maharaj, two great-grandchildren Daniel and Anastasia Maharaj, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services for Moon have been entrusted to Royal Palm Funeral Home & Royal Palm Memorial Gardens. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 5 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, located at 5601 Greenwood Ave, West Palm Beach, FL 33407. Immediately following the service, family and friends will gather at her home at 459 Silver Beach Road, Lake Park, Florida to remember her life.
