Being your first grandchild was one of the greatest blessings of my life. But to me, you were always so much more than a grandfather. You were my father figure, my protector, my biggest supporter, and my everything. You loved me and treated me as if I were your own daughter, and I will forever be grateful for the unconditional love you gave me.

Some of my happiest memories will always be the summers I spent with you, the trips we took together, and all the visits where you made sure I was spoiled. You always wanted the best for me, encouraged me to chase my dreams, accomplish my goals, and build the future I wanted for myself. You believed in me and pushed me to be the best version of myself. I hope I continue to make you proud.

Watching you fight so hard over the past several months was one of the hardest things I have ever experienced. Even through your pain and struggles, you somehow still managed to smile, and that smile could brighten my entire day. Your strength and courage will forever stay with me.

One of my greatest blessings was seeing the beautiful bond you shared with my daughter, even if it was through FaceTime. I wish more than anything that I could have introduced you in person and given you the chance to hold her in your arms. I promise she will grow up knowing who you were and just how much you loved her.

Although losing you has left a hole in my heart that can never be filled, I find comfort in knowing you are finally at peace. No more pain, no more suffering, and no more fighting. I would give anything to hear your voice one more time, share one more laugh, or have just one more moment with you. Grandpa, thank you for being more than I could have ever asked for. Thank you for loving me, guiding me, protecting me, and being my biggest cheerleader. I will carry your love with me in everything I do, and I promise to keep your memory alive through me and my daughter.

Forever your granddaughter 🕊️💗

My dearest Daddy,

It’s hard to find the words to say goodbye to someone who has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My heart aches knowing I will never hear your voice again, receive another phone call, or have another conversation with you.

These past several months were some of the hardest moments of our lives. I watched you fight with so much strength, and through it all, all I ever wanted was for you to get better, to be comfortable, and to have more time with us.

Although your journey wasn’t easy, I will forever cherish our last conversation and the words you left me with: “Thank you for everything you did for me. I love you.” Those words meant more to me than you could ever imagine, and I will carry them in my heart for the rest of my life.

I choose to remember you as the man who loved the ocean, fishing, his seafood, and the simple things that brought you happiness. My Cangrejo, with your strong personality, your stubbornness, and your fighting spirit, you were truly one of a kind.

Daddy, I hope you knew just how deeply you were loved. I find comfort knowing that your suffering has ended and that you can finally rest peacefully.

Thank you for the memories, the love, and the moments we shared. No matter how much time passes, you will always be my daddy, and I will always be your daughter.

Rest peacefully, my dear Cangrejo. May the ocean you loved so much always remind us of the beautiful memories you left behind.

Until we meet again, Daddy. I love you forever.

Your daughter,
Jacqueline 🤍🕊️
