Passed away April 2, 2016. He was born to Raymond Jackson and Arline Davies Jackson on June 28, 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio. His father preceded him in death in 1953 and his mother married Thomas A. Buchholz. Thomas adopted Raymond and his older brother, James and the family moved to West Palm Beach in 1959. Raymond graduated Palm Beach High School and the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology. On March 22, 1984, he married Mary L. Shepherd. They had one daughter, Heather Dawn, who preceded him in death. Also surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Buchholz and his brother, Mr. James L. Buchholz. Raymond had been a member of the Palm Beach Runners Club, the Audubon Society of the Everglades and the Nature Conservancy. He also had an Amateur Radio license which allowed him to assist in emergency communications. After 30+ years, he retired from the Florida Department of Agriculture – Division of Plant Industry in May, 2014.
