

Richard F. Beiter was born in Lancaster, Ohio and moved to Palm Springs, Florida in 1962 with wife, JoAnn Beiter. They later moved to Atlantis in 1983 and JoAnn passed away from illness in 1988. Richard married Margaret Parlamento (Peggy) in 1989. Richard is survived by Peggy and his three children (Debi Koleos (Dan), Jeff Beiter (Vicki), Pam Sartory), eight grandchildren (Kim Koleos Dionisio, Kelly Koleos, Kayla Koleos DuViosin, Kyle Koleos, Clint Beiter, Beth Beiter Bell, Bryce Sartory, Savannah Sartory), two great-grandchildren (Peyton and Parker Dionisio), three step-children (Ron Parlamento (Pam), Don Parlamento (Stephanie), Doug Parlamento (Debbie)), five step-grandchildren (Christopher, Nicholas and Matthew Parlamento, Anthony and Corey Parlamento) and three step-great grandchildren (Alexander and Adriana Parlamento, Abigail Parlamento).
Richard graduated from Lancaster High School in 1951. He served in the Ohio National Guard from 1952-1956. He enjoyed Stock Car Racing (#20) in Central Ohio. He was self-employed in farming, trucking and a stone crushing operation in Ohio. In 1968 he started a battery distributing business, Richard Beiter Inc. in Lake Worth, Florida. He served as President of the Battery Distributors of America from 1990-1991. He was a member of the Florida Automotive Wholesalers Association and served on their Board of Directors. He also participated in the Buyers and Sellers Association of West Palm Beach where he also served as President. He owned and leased commercial real estate in Lake Worth throughout the years and retired in 1995.
Richard was a servant leader throughout the years supporting the Palm Springs City Council (Mayor Protem, 1973-1975, Councilman 1975-1977); the Republican Committee of Palm Beach County (Vice Chairman); the Lake Worth Salvation Army (Volunteer and Advisory Board Member); Living Word Lutheran Church of Lake Worth (Council President); and the Amara Shrine (Masonic Lodge 57 Lancaster, Ohio and Palm Beach Gardens). Richard was a lifelong Rotarian with the Lake Worth Rotary Club, an avid golfer (Lost City Golf Club Member since 1986) and an active tennis player in Atlantis.
A Memorial Service will be held at Quattlebaum Funeral Center at Noon on Saturday, October 28, 2023 (6411 Parker Ave, West Palm Beach, Florida) with the burial following at Hillcrest Memorial Park (same address). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Richard’s name to the The Salvation Army.
