Richard Palanker

on May 11th 1929. Devoted husband to Claire , and father to Bonnie & Alan.

Richard worked for Cadillac Motor Car Division, in New York as the youngest salesman on

staff starting in 1966 rising to general manager for the popular Potamkin Cadillac

dealership through1981.

In 1983 at the age of 54, Richard became owner and president of Palanker Chevrolet in

West Babylon NY .With all that experience and know how, Palanker Chevrolet quickly

became one of the top 5 Chevrolet dealerships in the country consistently outperforming

larger and more experienced competition.

Palanker Chevrolet was the highest rated Corvette dealer from 1984 to 1995. Mr Palanker

was honored at the ceremony for the 1 millionth Corvette manufactured in Lexington KY,

where he was awarded for sale Corvettes 1,000,001 and 2.

“MR P” was an irrepressible force in the automobile business, friend, mentor and father

figure to many men and woman looking to succeed. Always ready with a kind word and

solution to any problems that might occur.

He joins again in heaven with beloved wife of 50 plus years Claire, and daughter Bonnie.

He is survived by his son Alan, daughter in law Mary Palanker of Wellington Fl.

Grandchildren Nicole, Simone, Miles, and numerous cousins and friends.

Services will be held on Fri Mar 9th at IJ Morris Funeral Home, Hempstead NY. 11.30AM.
