Met Rich when he joined  TX Dept of Human Services as a Civil Rights Officer. I was the Regional HRS Director . We collabrated on numerous investigations. He was highly skilled in his  field & a valuable resource. We would often have lunch  together. Rich would usually drive & help me get in & out of that sports car he loved. We maintained contact after I retired. We had lunch a few years ago when I was in SA from VA. He was a delightful person whose friendship I will always  cherish. Rest in eternal peace.

My deepest sympathy goes out to you at this difficult time. May happy memories of Richard bring you comfort at this sad time.  Richard was a great man, colleague  and friend! He will be greatly missed in Texas. My thoughts and prayers  are with you and all your family. 

I have known Rich for at least 30 years. While we were both Air Force retirees, our paths crossed when we were doing counselor applicant oral boards for Texas.  He was also hired as adjunct faculty in the Human Services Program, at San Antonio College, where he taught part-time for about 10 years.  He had the ability for making friends wherever he went.  He definitely was a brother in our work family.  He was a true friend and confidant.  His presence, wit, and unique personality will be missed by everyone who knew him. I had the pleasure of knowing Rich when we were in the Air Force. We were drug/alcohol counselors who worked to certify other AF counselors and, later on,  counselors in Texas. I shall miss him as a dedicated team player with a wonderful sense of humor.  He was a skilled therapist and  teacher. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. 

Richard was a wonderful person, a gifted teacher, a Veteran, and a good friend.  He will be sorely missed by the faculty, staff and students of San Antonio College Addiction Counselor Training Program where he taught several courses for us.  We are all heartbroken to hear of his passing.  Our department is a close knit little family of individuals who have a particular calling to teach in our program, and Rich was no exception and he was beloved by all.  Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone whose life he touched, especially his family.  May the peace of the Lord be with you all now and always.
