Dick was one of the first people who I met when I arrived to Florida in 1985 from Philadelphia. He was very friendly and helpful in making contacts and orienting us to life here in Palm Beach County. I often spoke with him during my time at JFK Medical Center and always found him to be sharp, witty, and entertaining. He was a very avid supporter of his Temple and worked hard to recruit us to join there which we did for several years. I will always remember him fondly.

I Just heard the news and send my love and condolences. "Dr. Shugarman" was a constant in my childhood, as the father of my friend, as a leader in the community, and alwayseasy to talk to.
As an adult who moved back to town, I would enjoy bumping into him an catching up hi skids, grand kids, the community or something he was working on. Always great to see him and Rhona at the Kravis Center shows.

May his memory always be a blessing for the family.

Dear Rhona and Family, There are so many "memories" over 20yrs. of working with Dr. Shugarman. He was my employer; and, a dear friend. He and I would talk about his "family"; and, mine. He was so giving of his time when my son, Phillip, died with his support of dealing with grief. Rhona, you have a beautiful, loving family to have their support and love. Sincerely, Sharon Michaelson

Dr. Shugarman was a beloved mentor and friend of the Children of the First Haitian Baptist Church of Belle Glade Youth and Children Development Center. He loved the children and was so helpful providing me with ideas on fund raising to build a new center to house these beautiful children. I know he will continue to shine and inspire me from heaven as he always did! Rest in Peace my dear friend.
My deepest condolences to Rhona and family!

Ken and I are so very sorry to hear about Dick's passing. I know him for many years through my involvement in the Reform Jewish community, both on a local level and as a member of the Union for Reform Judaism North American Board of Trustees. On a more personal level he helped us out tremendously when my husband wound up in the ER. I know that he was well respected in the medical community. May his memory be a blessing to those whose lives he touched.
