Roberto A. Hernandez

Roberto married Teresa M. Hernandez in Cuba, and the couple immigrated to the United States in the mid-1960s in search of a better life for their family. They settled in West Palm Beach,Florida, where they made their home on Avon Road for the rest of their lives.

For nearly 30 years, Roberto worked as an electrician at Palm Beach International Airport, a career he took great pride in. Outside of work, he was a gifted handyman, spending countless evenings visiting friends and neighbors to fix plumbing, televisions, appliances, and electrical problems. Much of this work he did for the Cuban and Hispanic community, taking Special pride in helping fellow immigrants who, like him, had built a new life far from home. He was also known among friends and family for his skills as a barber, cutting the hair of many friends and their sons over the years. Between his handiwork and his haircuts, Roberto

became a quiet pillar of his community, someone people could

always call on.

Roberto was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa M. Hernandez, who passed away in 2009, as well as his brothers, Luciano (Tony) and Ernesto, and his sister, Josefa (Juana).

He is survived by his daughter, Barbara L. Hernandez, and his son, Roberto L. Hernandez, along with his two grand daughers, Teresa and Josephine Hernandez. He is also survived by 3 nieces, 3 nephews. his daughter-in-law Nancy Padron Hernandez and son-in-law Dr. Barry Duncan.

Roberto will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his generous hands, and the community he built through decades of hard work and quiet service to others. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, family member and friend.
